On 15 March 2026 , Benadir regional police detained the following journalist while documenting protests over rising fuel prices in Mogadishu:

- Hussien Mohamed Abdi, COSOB Tv
- Abdirizak Hussein Ali, COSOB Tv
- Abdirahman Hassan Haaji (Jakataa), Ogaal Tv
- Feysal Abdi Farah, Kalsan Tv
- Ibrahim Abdullahi, Kalsan Tv
was briefly arrested by the Benadir Regional Police Forces at Waberi District Police Station while covering a public protest organised by Bajaj drivers over rising fuel prices in Mogadishu. Following their brief detention, all journalist was released on the same day, 15 March 2026.
