On 10 April 2025, Somali Police Forces arrested Feisal Omar Hashi, a Reuters journalist, in Mogadishu for reporting on a protest by the Somali Bantu minority. He was held in detention for 2 hours and released on the same day without any formal charges or legal proceedings.
